Le Damas is a folding knife with a Damascus steel blade, forged from 67 layers, and a sandblasted titanium alloy handle. Slip joint lock, 7.5 cm blade for a total length of 19.3 cm.
Damascus steel blade
Le Damas's Damascus steel is made by forging together several layers of steel with different compositions — 67 in this case — then revealing the pattern through acid etching. This ancient process produces a visually unique surface: no two Damascus blades are alike. Beyond aesthetics, layering offers a good balance between hardness and resistance to breakage. As with any high-carbon steel, regular maintenance (light oil, drying after wet use) preserves the pattern and prevents corrosion.
Titanium handle
Le Damas's handle is made of titanium alloy, with a sandblasted finish that gives it a matte, slightly textured look. Titanium is a lightweight metal, resistant to corrosion, that doesn't deform over time. The sandblasted finish limits visible wear marks from daily use.
Slip joint lock
Le Damas opens and closes via a slip joint, a traditional mechanism that holds the blade open through the tension of an internal spring, with no latch or release button.
